Why sellers lose money on SAFE-T claims
A SAFE-T claim is how an Amazon seller asks to be reimbursed when an order costs money through no fault of their own — most often a refund was issued but the product never came back. Amazon pays these claims, but only if you find them yourself, file them inside the allowed window and attach the right proof.
Doing that by hand means matching thousands of order IDs across the All Orders report, the payment (settlement) report, the returns report and your own warehouse records. Most sellers simply give up — and the money is gone.
What the tool does for you
- Finds every claimable order — refunded orders that were never returned, and replacement pairs where the original or the replacement is missing.
- Calculates the claim window for each order from the right base date (refund date, or the latest refund / replacement date in a pair), so claims are filed when Amazon accepts them.
- Removes orders that are already settled — SAFE-T credits, "lost or damaged" reimbursements and FBA customer-return reimbursements are read from the payment report automatically.
- Tracks each claim — Not filed, Filed with SAFE-T ID, Approved or Rejected — and moves it to Claim history with the amount credited or lost.
- Builds an evidence pack with the order, refund and return details you need to paste into Seller Central.
When can you file a SAFE-T claim?
Amazon only accepts a "return not received" claim after it has given the return enough time to arrive. In practice the window opens about 50 days after the refund and stays open for a limited period after that. For replacement orders Amazon counts from the latest refund or replacement date in the pair — counting from the original order date is the most common reason claims are rejected as "filed before the eligible period". The tool shows the open and close date for every claim and alerts you when a window is about to close. Always check the current rules in Seller Central, as Amazon can change them.
Which reports you need
All Orders report (.txt), the Date Range payment report (.csv), the Returns Reconciliation report, the Replacements report, and — if you record them — your physically received returns. Upload them any day; overlapping dates and repeated files are stored once, so nothing is counted twice.
Frequently asked questions
Is the SAFE-T claim tool free?
Yes. Create a free account, get your brand workspace approved and upload your reports.
Does it file claims on Amazon for me?
No. It finds the orders, tells you when to file and prepares the details; you file the claim in Seller Central and paste the SAFE-T ID back to track it.
Why did Amazon reject my claim as filed too early?
The claim window had not opened yet. For replacement orders Amazon counts from the latest refund or replacement date, not the first order. The tool uses the same rule.
Is my data private?
Each brand gets its own private workspace. Other brands never see your orders.
